You would be surprised how long they live. The migration is usually 8+ year males looking for females. They don’t expect to survive (the cold gets them). The females can live to 25 years. I’ve read 1,000s how many who knows
On another note, they did a study with elementary school students. The youngest children were curious about spiders and wanted to touch them. Older children did not like them. Which meant that the fear of spiders was learned, not something children always had.

that’s really interesting. I’d guess that many of our fears are learned as oppose to us being born with them.
